"Home is where one starts from." ~ T. S. Eliot

Hello folks, we are on the last two legs of our little journey that started last Friday. It's now a week later, Friday, January 2, 2015, and we are about five hours away from our growing up area in Louisiana. We will be there for this afternoon and tonight with mom and dad and then make our way back to our home base tomorrow, Lord willing. Thus far we've had a very enjoyable trip except maybe for the snow and ice. Seeing so many older people traveling makes me wonder if they have better meds than I have for their arthritis that does get noisy after sitting for hours under the steering wheel. Being back in our growing up area is where it all started for us over fifty years ago. Now, after hitting that threshold of 50 years of marriage, we now open up a new chapter as this new year is upon us. I'll be back at work on Monday but I do know that full retirement is a decision that is looming at some time in the future. I'm thankful the wife has found her retirement days to be largely occupied in ministries that serve others. I know God is pleased when we choose to honor Him in this way.

Say a prayer for the wife as she will be facing some surgical procedures early this year to help deal with some long term digestive issues. May God help us all to keep on keeping on as we seek to follow His directions and in putting Him first in this upcoming year. Amen. .....More later.
