Annoyance: Why is it that we never hear about a psychic winning the lottery?

Ralph: "One of these days, Alice, one of these days... bang... zoom."
Now let's see if we can get this off to a good start because doing Monday when it lands on Tuesday, well, that's always tough, and this one lands on September 2, 2014. Have you ever thought about the things that annoy you? And, have you considered how easily annoyed you can get? I think we all would be embarrassed to know just how long the list is and how quickly we can become stirred up. The other day I was reading some of the peeves listed on a website that claims to have the web's largest list. I guess there's at least 500 or more. Some of them are things that would likely rile any of us. ~ No toilet paper or napkins in a public restroom. ~ People who zig and zag in and out of traffic. ~ Co-workers who are always trying to sell stuff at work. ~ People who drive slow in the lane designated for faster travel. ~ Those who never take responsibility and always find someone or something to blame. ~ I can see where things like that would irritate most of us. However, I said there were many more. This means many of them are, shall we say, less than trivial. ~ Road maps that are folded incorrectly. ~ The noise made when someone rubs their fingers on a balloon. ~ The way people walk in flip-flops. ~ Ice cream with freezer burn. ~ When you bite into a jelly bean only to find out it's not the flavor you thought it was. ~ I suppose it behooves us all to be less peeved and irritable especially when many of things that get us going don't amount to a hill of beans, perhaps jelly beans.

I would suggest further clarification on the jelly bean peeve. I am a cinnamon, lime, and lickerish fan. Those particular flavors need to follow a pattern. Red for cinnamon, green for lime, and black for lickerish. How many times have I had my taste buds on the ready-set-go starting line only to get strawberry, cherry, green apple, and who knows what else for the lickerish? And, some of you actually think you've had to deal with a lot of adversity in your life. I'm not given to having too many government regulations but something needs to be done. One solution is to bag them all by flavor, period. Forget mixing them up. Isn't there something in the Bible about mixing stuff that's not supposed to be mixed? That way people can get what they want. Not that many people who love lime are into settling for green apple. I can assure you of that! But, then you have the experience where the stars all line up and the jelly bean chosen is exactly what your brain is expecting. Oh Happy Day, Oh Happy Day. That's when you know it's all going to be okay. Maybe not, but it is at least a down payment.

For those who may not know, there will be a season 6 for Duck Dynasty. I don't know of any other program in the history of television that has been bombarded as much as these folks with hate from the mainstream critics, every liberal group, and even powerful people within TV management circles. Sure, the ratings for season 5 were down. Hello? Every single day another 'Get off the air' rant by journalists from coast to coast. However, they still were the most watched program on cable, period. They were moved to summer where many people are out and about but they still won their time slot each week. Last week Willie tossed the coin at the University of Louisiana Monroe football game. They scanned the crowd. It is his hometown and there were plenty of folks decked out in their Duck Dynasty gear. Camouflage, beards, t-shirts, you name it. And, one row of African American fans wearing their Duck. Take that critics of those who stand by their faith. Take that critics of anyone who attempts to put on a wholesome program. You may not be a fan and that's okay. However, you should at least be glad they are still on the air because they have overcome great obstacles to do so. Okay. With that, let's get back to our Monday in progress here on this Tuesday. May God bless each one. Amen.  .... More later.
