"Then the Lord spoke to Moses saying, 'Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, "Thus you shall bless the sons of Israel. You shall say to them: The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." 'So they shall invoke My name on the sons of Israel, and I shall bless them." Numbers 6:22-27

I'm somewhat back into the swing of things here at the ole blogger ranch, so, how's it going for you on this Tuesday, May 7, 2013? I do love listening to music. All kinds: Southern Gospel, Gospel, Choral, Folk, Big Band, Bluegrass, Mountain, Cajun, A Capella, Mexican, Country, Classical, Irish, and some Bagpipes as well as others. And, let me just say I can clear the room when I tune into Mollie Bee's Polka Party on RFD-TV. Some people just do not appreciate good music, or maybe it's all those old people stumbling around on the dance floor. The other day I was watching an Irish tune played on YouTube and it had the words of a blessing portrayed on top of some beautiful scenery. The author is unknown but the words did reach out and touch me in a special way. I thought it might be a good one for us all to contemplate, so, here it is, my wee lads and lasses:

I wish you not a path devoid of clouds,
Nor a life on a bed or roses.
Nor, that you might never need regret,
Nor that you should never feel pain.

No, this is not my wish for you. My wish for you is:
That you might be brave in times of trial
When others lay crosses upon your shoulders.
When mountains must be climbed and chasms crossed,
When hope scarce shines through.
When every gift God gave you might grow along with you,
And let you give the gift of joy to all who care for you.

That you might always have a friend who is worth that name.
Whom you can trust.
And hope will be, in times of sadness,
Who will defy the storms of life by your side.

One more wish for you:
That in every hour of joy and pain, you may be close to God.
This is my wish for you and those who are close to you.
This is my hope for you, now and forever
.

You get the sounds of those haunting Irish melodies going in the background and these words do tend to penetrate as we contemplate our desire to see those we love live within the watchful care of our Great God. Accept this little wishful poetic jewel as my gift to you on a day when we all can use some encouragement. Right? I thought so. Now, here's the deal: We have this day to do with what we can, so, let's get out there and get with it! Have a good one and may our Great God add His blessings to whatever we endeavor to accomplish today. Amen.  .....More later.
