Our three sons and two of our three grandsons. |
Okay, here we are. One year after the last time we all wished each other a happy new year. Oh, that's right. It works that way essentially the same once a year. Got it. Welcome to the final edition of the year on this
Friday, December 31, 2010. Yesterday was a very intense day of trying to determine a way forward for my brother in terms of follow on treatment and a host of related issues. We know we are not alone. Many families deal with these very same issues every single day. However, it doesn't make it easy, especially for my mom, who is so burdened about Donald's condition. We are seeking God's providence and provision and trust that He will make a way. This was my prayer last night when I poured my tired bones into my bed. The good news is that we are a family who recognizes that we need God's help and we have confidence in Him to help us in our time of need. That is a heritage that I am very thankful for because I have seen it at work throughout my 64 plus years here on the planet. It's not a bail out strategy, it is a way of life strategy. I know there are those who scoff at the idea of folks who live each day in dependence upon God but I believe the longer I am hanging around, it is the more that the truth of this approach to life makes sense. May we all finish the year of 2010 by acknowledging God as our Father, and embracing His Son as our Savior, while seeking His Spirit to lead and guide us into the coming new year. I will see you next year, Lord willing!
Amen. .....More later.
