Global warming officially on hold, at least for this morning!

Welcome to all the polar bear enthusiasts who are enjoying this brief dip below freezing on this beautiful Monday morning, January 12, 2009. I do hope you had a wonderful Saturday and Lord's Day Sunday. We did the 'work your fingers to the bone' on Saturday as we unloaded the portable storage unit where nearly 45 years of our belongings were stored. I will tell you that while I love books, huge boxes of books that need to be carried upstairs can stir up those relatives that no one really enjoys, Uncle Arthur (Arthritis) and Uncle Bursey (Bursitis). But it was a productive day and it moves us one more inch closer to a return to normalcy. Yesterday, after Church services our entire gang met over at a local restaurant to celebrate our Brady Darrell's third birthday. It was a very cool day and we were out on a patio but they had some wonderful ceiling mounted heating units along with open fire pits that made for a lovely two hour celebration. What a day it was! One we will not soon forget! I had sent our little Bray Bray a special email and his mom printed it out and gave it to him last Friday morning. How does a Poppy try and come up with an appropriate greeting for his precious but precocious three year old grandson? I'm glad you asked. Here is the home grown greeting I sent to him:

To Brady: Happy Birthday from a few of your Friends!

From Hulk to Brady, ....the soldier says, "Okay, is that it? Is that all you've got?" But Hulk replies, "No, one last thing, HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY TO MY BUDDY BRADY!

From Spiderman to Brady: "Hey little dude, HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY!!!!!" Finally from your MiMi and Poppy: We love you and wish you a very wonderful and happy 3rd birthday.

This is how it happens when your mind turns to mush over time but my how we love our kids, their wives, and our grandchildren! Okay, let's all agree that we are going to have a good day, a good week, and a good life for ourselves and our families, with God's help! AND, He knows we will need His help to see this happen! Wishing you God's best, I remain, your faithful scribbler of this, that, and the other. See you next time when there will be .......more later.
