Thank God for another day and it happens to be Friday, January 7, 2011. This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Today we recognize the one year anniversary of when our little great grand bundle of Madelyn Joy made her debut. She is the daughter of our granddaughter Tiffany and her husband J. C. Tiffany is the daughter of our eldest son Chris and his wife Sherrie. I spent some time with Maddy on New Year's Day. Since I'm not around her that much it takes her a while to get used to me but thanks to her dad for being persistent and you know me, I will be there ready and willing when she is, well, I was able to enjoy walking her around, playing with her on the floor, and just being with her. She not only looks like her mom, our granddaughter Tiffany, when her mom was exactly the same age, but our son, her Paw Paw, mentioned to me how her voice seems like a recording of her mom. She is into saying "See, see!" in response to just about everything and that is exactly how her mom used to do it. We are blessed because Maddy loves little kids and we have plenty who love to spend time with her, therefore, we have a good match. During Christmas, our Lexie, and Alesha and Amanda, all took time to play with Maddy and she loved every minute. Spoiled? Guilty as charged. A blessing from the Lord? 100%! Happy Birthday to our sweet bundle of Madelyn Joy!
This coming Sunday we will celebrate our Brady Darrell's 5th birthday. Brady is the son of our youngest son Rodney and his wife Mitzi. He's the only little boy mixing it up with his sisters Kyleigh and Lexie. We have been working on trying to not call him Bray-Bray anymore because he has outgrown that nickname, but it's hard because he is such a little character. There are some who tell our son Rodney that perhaps Brady is a pay back for some of his notable exploits as a child but if he is, it is a bonus. When people talk about how that children are all unique in their own special way, that certainly is what you think of when you deal with our Brady. He is a little bull in a china shop but in a fascinating and loving way. He has always been so respectful and loving towards his MiMi and Poppy and just so you know, we do eat that sort of stuff up. He is a blur of activities, a moving target, a young man on a mission and that mission is to exhaust himself playing and he is good at it. He and his first cousin, Alexander Benjamin, love to run and play. They always remind us of our boys who were the same way with their cousins. Brady is a part of a busy world where his family is going in a lot of different directions at the same time, however, he has carved out his own special identity, and we look forward to seeing all that God has planned for this remarkable young man, our grandson. May God bless you Brady, and Happy Birthday! Amen. Love, MiMi and Poppy.

Good morning, Al! I am peeking into your blog thru my FB connection with Marilyn. What beautiful grandiose you guys have! I would have saw something very familiar in Brady if I had met him on the street, bec he definitely has Rodney's good looks, and the baby is so sweet and pretty! You joy in the little ones is unmistakeable! ...and just as it should with grands! Monty and I are waiting, he more anxiously than I, :) for some grand little people. But for now we are enjoying our grown kids...Emily, the youngest of the girls, will graduate this year. It doesn't seem right...she will turn 18 in Feb. And I can still see her and Joey Williams little girl toddling around in their diapers. Time flies...like a vapor, as the bible says. We blink and it's gone.
Marilyn was telling me about the stuff you guys are doing at Christmas with the Santa gig...it sounds like God has given you a good work to do and you are giving it your best! And you definitely look the part!
It was so good to get a little glimpse of your holidays and the fun you have with your family! May your new year be filled with God's blessings as you live your life for Him!
Pam
