Trying to get those gray cells awake is like waiting on pure ribbon cane syrup on an icy morning!

Remember last week when I was pouring out my thoughts about what seemed to be the unending off and on again rain event? Looks like we will need to begin watering again this week. That July sun licks up any left over moisture like one of those ant eaters vacuuming up his prey. But, it is good to be with you once again, and to sit here paging my brain for anything cogent to pass along for today's session. It is Tuesday, July 13, 2010 and some days stuff comes flying in from places I didn't even know existed while on other days it's like the proverbial tooth pulling operation. It's sort of like the knock knock joke gone awry where I do the knocking but no one is at home. I actually watched the entire world cup finals match between the Netherlands and Spain. I watched and watched and then I watched some more. The team from Spain was obviously the more skilled, therefore, the Dutch team determined their only strategy was to play rough. They did and they received many penalties as a result. This rough play which was not very pretty kept the game close. The score at the end of the first period after 45 minutes, zero to zero. The score at the end of regulation after 90 minutes, zero to zero. The score after the first 15 minute overtime, zero to zero. Finally, the rough play resulted in one of the Dutch players being ejected from the game, therefore, they had to play one man down which eventually led to the one goal that was scored with about four minutes left in the second overtime. Exciting? Not really. Intense? Big time! Worth two hours plus commercials? I will have to get back to you on that one. The one thing that is obvious is that while winning this championship is not so much of a big deal here in America, let me assure you, it is a HUGE deal in the rest of the world and since this was Spain's first ever world cup championship, you can be sure they will be living large over the next four years before the next world cup matches.

Looking over the world news headlines this morning let's us know that some things seem not to change very much: We are one messed up world, folks! I mentioned that Spain won the world cup. They need as much market help as they can get since Spain is thought by many experts to be next in line for a financial collapse. What is Spain doing to try and deal with this looming crisis? I read not too long ago they were considering a lawsuit against France to reclaim their rights for inventing what has been wrongly called the "French Kiss." It seems they have located an old manuscript that describes an open mouth kiss and it predates the French usage, therefore, they want this designation to be called by its rightful name: The Spanish Kiss! How funny is that? It's like our government pursuing this lawsuit against Arizona's new immigration statute. They have not and will not do what is necessary to deal with the illegals coming into our country but they consider the action of Arizona who is drowning in wave after wave of unfunded medial costs, education costs, and violent criminal activity to be an encroachment of their federal jurisdiction. I am actually glad they filed this lawsuit. I hope it goes to trial and that testimony is required from all sides. This will officially put into the record for all to see exactly what it means to live in a country where taxation without representation is becoming the norm, and in this case it will show that we have laws but no enforcement at the federal level. Instead of complaining about the feds, I say, "Bring it on!"

And while I am on the subject I wanted you to consider the change in how our mainstream media views our ongoing war effort. When President George W. Bush was in office, every night we heard on the big newscasts about the soldiers being killed and how that President Bush was directly responsible. We saw the flag draped coffins coming off the airplanes and each time the voice over indicted President Bush as the cause of these needless deaths. Flash forward to 2009-2010. By a wide margin, more troops are dying each day under President Barak Obama's watch than ever under Bush's time in office but where's the attention, the outrage, and the images that dominated the air waves? It is time for people to wake up and smell the Community. That would be my brand of coffee for those of you who do not know. And, sadly, this is only one of thousands of differences in the way that President Obama is being treated. They tell us that in the world of politics, perception is the reality that you must live with. A liberal leaning poll recently found that 55% of the American people believe that President Obama is a socialist. That, in the political realm is mind boggling. I will not say he is but there is absolutely no doubt that his policies lean in that direction where government controls all things pertaining to its citizens. He came into office on a wave of optimism that transcended race and politics but instead of tending to the people's business he and his cronies set out to remodel the very foundational underpinnings of our nation. Some may want this big government, big brother approach but we have the blood of our brave crying out against this assault on our freedoms. It is time for a reality check America. It is a time to seek God's intervention if we are to remain a free people who live based on values we believe that God has ordained. May God help us is all I can think of at this time. Now. Think about it. If this is what I could come up with when I didn't have anything to talk about, we had better all hang on when I do have something to say! Amen. ......More later.
