"To catch the real meaning of the “spirit of Christmas,” we need only drop the last syllable, and it becomes the 'Spirit of Christ.'" ― Thomas S. Monson

Hello and welcome to the day after here at the ole blogger ranch. It is Friday, November 27, 2020, and, having enjoyed a most wonderful day of feasting and fellowship, we now turn the page. We actually ended up with 14 for our Thanksgiving Day gathering. If we count our tree and its branches, that is roughly half of our clan, but, we so much enjoyed our time together. As you can see, we did do our eating meeting in our backyard. I quickly add that everyone did do their best to observe the 'rules' of protection that we all have become all too familiar with. Thanks to everyone who was able to be with us. Thanks to our Chris for smoking the turkey and preparing the ham. Thanks to the wife of my youth who worked so hard, not just on Thursday, but the prior days leading up to our time together so that it would be special for everyone. And, more than anything, we thank God for providing the means and the opportunity for us to gather. The Bible says every good gift comes down from above and we saw the reality of that in our time together. May God be praised. Amen.

And, just like that, we turned the page and now it is on with our Christmas observance. While we are only doing limited appearances as Santa and Mrs. Claus, we do start next week with events on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and the following Monday. That's like going from zero to 100 without a warm-up. The photo is of our home and it was taken from the street. The shadow above the front door is from the nativity scene we have spotlighted. We didn't plan that but I happen to like it. That nativity scene is a great reminder of why we have Christmas. He is, as the slogan says, The Reason for The Season! Sometimes, we lose that with all the hullabaloo going on around us. Okay. Have yourself a wonderful weekend and I will work on treating these discombobulated symptoms that tend to plague my writing from time to time. Enjoy. Be blessed, and don't forget to remember to thank God. Amen. ....More later.
