At least you don't have to wonder what I think about it.

College football season is underway. Yay! or Nay! It's Wednesday, September 4, 2019, and, I am on my soapbox once again. I will lead with the example of an embarrassing trend: Penn State 79, Idaho 7. It's sickening to see ranked teams playing nobody teams and then acting as if they have won something. Even worse, their fans exuding in the prowess of their high and mighty teams as they smash their opponents into the turf, natural or artificial. Facebook explodes with fans trying to put a good face on a travesty. "They sure played with intensity tonight. I hope that's a good sign." How dopey is that when they beat their opponent by 72 points? Sure. I've heard it too. These smaller venue teams get much-needed revenue when they play a ranked opponent. There's a Greek word for that, it's translated: HOGWASH. The millions upon millions paid by people to support their chosen teams and then they show up to see a no-contest game. Of course the rankings today include incentives for teams to run up the score because it is a part of the composite. My point? Good teams should play good teams or at the very least nearly good teams. I will admit I am borderline fickle. After all, I quit watching the NFL over the anthem controversy. I did see the scores from the weekend college games. I did see some teams playing as I flipped through the channels. I did not watch any game. Period. But, if you think these kinds of one-sided blowout freak shows is to your liking, I say this: Good for you and have a nice day. (And, if you do enjoy them, I have no problem whatsoever with you doing so. For the record. Just to be clear.)

When they say the current Democratic Party is not the one our grandparent's supported, that, my friend, would be an understatement. Instead of moderating their wildly leftist leanings, the party appears to be doubling down. The heads of the party recently passed a resolution aligning themselves with people who have no religious affiliation. They said these people are the ones who espouse true values, implying people of faith do not. They also have done nothing to change the current picture being painted as they continue to seek a nominee. That picture clearly communicates for all to see: Vote Trump or Vote Socialism. It is as simple as that. I grew up in the era before the Republican Party became as viable as they are today. Democrats in our area of Louisiana were conservatives. Period. Not anymore! Conservatives are very unwelcome in today's Democratic Party. Based on these recent pronouncements, people with deeply held religious beliefs based on the Bible are also unwelcome. The scariest thing about all of this is the fact that the Democrat candidate could be elected. How? Sometimes God allows us to get what we deserve as opposed to sparing us. Now here is a little joke I saw the other day. Don't get all bent out of shape. I'll not name anyone. The joke went like this: A currently prominent Democrat held a news conference regarding the fires in the Amazon. Her main concern was for how all the packages would be delivered. Think about it. It is funny. To me.

I know my wife doesn't like for me to dwell much on politics, but, something happened recently that really got me to thinking. The mainstream media fell all over themselves covering the anniversary of the day President Obama appeared in the press briefing room wearing a light tan suit. It was an astounding thing. Amazing. Unprecedented. Brilliant. And, on and on they went. One major outlet went as far as saying this was as close to a scandal as could be found during the Obama administration. I immediately remembered how it was revealed the press was well aware of the shenanigans going on during the Kennedy's prominence in Washington D.C. They knew but they chose not to report because they loved them. This is how I see it with President Obama. They loved him and they still do. If you think the nearest thing to a scandal was the day President Obama wore a light tan suit, well, sorry, I can't help you. For those who know better, here are a few honorable mentions as scandal candidates: IRS targeting the Tea Party; the disaster involving guns given to the bad guys known as Fast and Furious; the Veterans Administration debacle; Obamacare passage; Obamacare failures; the green initiative fiasco, Solyndra; and the cash payoff to Iran. Notice, I didn't even mention anything connected to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Why should I care? I'll be kind here and use one word: Manipulation. Many of the other mainstream outlets chose to get on the bandwagon of promoting the light tan suit as the closest to a scandal theme. Contrast all of this with the microscopic examination of every minute detail of our current President including reporting stories later proven to have been fabricated. I know there's no such thing as a level playing field, but, don't you think they would at least try? Again, these are the views of one individual, me, myself, and I. You can have your own. Take care now, you hear? Until next time, may God bless us all and may He bless the USA. Amen. ....More later.
