Memories that will bring a tear...and a sneeze.

Chris made his mom a cheesecake for her birthday!
Good morning and welcome to Thursday, April 26, 2012. We've been very busy here at the old home place dealing with some materials that have been around since the 1960's. We actually have had on hand all of our financial records dating back to 1964. It's fun to look back at what we were paying for water in Alexandria, La., back in 1965, or how much we paid for our brand new 1966 Karmann Ghia, but then again, you have to wonder if any of that will really matter to anyone, including ourselves, in the past, the present, or the future. We have downsized our archives and have a huge amount of materials that will soon meet their end in the incinerator. Just in case you might not know, this, my friend, is very intense work. We kept 99% of all the kids memorabilia and they will eventually make a decision about all of that stuff. I suppose Rodney might want to look at the several castings we have from his climbing adventures as a toddler. Our Chris may want to look at some of his earliest art work and Jimmy some of the notes he used to write. Eventually. At least they want have to work their way through all the stuff we've handled this week. Some of that stuff is so old it has begun to crumble. We did do some sneezing as we worked through the discard or keep process but it was, as they say, worth the effort. One thing is certain. When we were starting out our financial records would easily fit into a shoe box. As we continued the boxes became larger and larger along with the tax bills. But, that's the way it works here in the home of the brave and land of the free. Hope you all are all well and may God bless us all. Amen.     .....More later.
