From Philippians: "....do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

Donald Abbott Sept. 3, 1948 - June 18, 2011
Hello folks. It is Monday, June 20, 2011, and I bid you welcome to another busy work week. As most of you know by now, our brother, Donald Richard Abbott, passed away on Saturday, June 18, just after 6 a.m. My sister JoAnn stayed with Donald during his last week. Mom and dad, along with our sister Frances was able to come last Wednesday and they had a wonderful visit with him. His youngest daughter, Jolena, was able to spend quality time with him also. His companion and caregiver throughout this ordeal, Dotty, was also there around the clock. I was able to be with him Thursday night and Friday night where early Saturday morning we all gathered around him and were able to say a prayer to our great God before he slipped from this life into the next. Since his massive heart attack last August, he had been through it in terms of medical treatment, probably unequalled during his lifetime, except maybe for his years of Marine Corps training. This week we will be busy getting all the details together for a tribute service we are planning. The service is planned for Wednesday morning in Louisiana near our hometown. Details are still pending final confirmation and I am trying to act as coordinator, therefore, I appreciate your prayers. For our mom and dad, Donald's companion, his children and their families, for us siblings, and our extended family clan, and we are a sizable clan. I may not be on my regular blog schedule but I will be back in touch with you all, because you are very special to me. Have a great day and may God bless us all as we do our best to serve Him and others this week. Amen.  ......More later.
