Brady is 14 today. Happy Birthday. Is time flying by too fast or is it just me?

Hello and welcome. Today is Thursday, January 9, 2020, and we are happy to celebrate the 14th birthday of our grandson, Brady Darrell. Brady is the youngest of our youngest, Rodney Darrell and wife Mitzi. We thank God for this young man and pray He will lead, guide, and direct his way as he continues his journey. Happy Birthday, Brady! Our love, MiMi and Poppy.

You would be correct. Keeping up with birthdays in our family has become a bigger chore over the years. As it should be! We just found out we will again be great grands as our first granddaughter, Tiffany and husband Brandon have announced they have a baby on the way. It reminds me of an old country Gospel song that has these lyrics, "Set another place at the table, Write another name on the roll..." That song referred to folks being added to the heavenly roll book, and, I quickly add, that is our constant prayer for each and every family member. That's the only way we will all be together for eternity as each one puts their faith and trust in Jesus and His provision. Looking at that photo, even with seven missing, reminds me of our wedding night back on December 18, 1964. Someone used white shoe polish to scribble these words on our car, "Watch Louisiana Grow!" I know those dudes who worked on the car and I'm pretty sure there wasn't a Prophet among them. However, they got that one right! What do we say to these things? Praise God for His goodness, love, and mercy. We are blessed. Amen.

Our Santa Enterprise experiences often have stories behind them. I can't choose a favorite from this past year because there are too many to choose from. However, the card above is very special to us. Sure, it's nice that we are on their card, but, we are no doubt on hundreds of cards. The backstory here is about the young dad. His name is Josh. He grew up in the local fellowship where we served for 30 years. We watched him grow up. Literally. We remember him being active in everything related to our youth programs, as a participant, and then as a teen, as a leader. We saw him surrender his life to fulltime service to our Lord. We heard him preach his first sermon. We remember when he went off to Moody College in Chicago. We saw photos of his graduation. We remember his dating and engagement with Amy who was also in school and became a nurse. He now serves as the Youth Pastor at a local Church in our area. We had hoped someday to get a photo with their precious little one. Well, that happened a few weeks ago. That's the story behind the image of us and little Emma on their card. What do I say to these things? Are we blessed or what? And, may God help this couple to continue to make a difference in the lives of those they work with. For time and eternity. Amen. ....More later.
