Let's face it, today may be Monday but it is about all we have to work with at the moment. Might as well give it our best shot.

Mr. Bentley, Neighborhood Watch Commander, has completed his morning inspections.
Welcome to Monday, October 7, 2019. I hear the train a comin, it's comin down the tracks. Not really. But, I do hope that sound is the sound of the cool front charging into our area. The recent Facebook family connection recognition deal is pretty much wearing everyone out. I think nearly every conceivable family connection has been given a national day of recognition. The only one I haven't seen is the national day to honor your double-first cousin, thrice removed. It may be a coming attraction. Last Thursday, we were privileged to help kick off a new service for some memory care patients at a facility in Conroe. Many of these folks still have some basic functionality in being able to read and sing along on the hymns of the faith. There were nearly 40 there for this first session. The fellow leading out already is doing two other Altzheimer locations in the area. At the end of the one hour service, I went and sat down beside an older gentleman. I asked how he was doing. He said he was really really old. I guessed and said, in your 80s? He thought for a minute and said, "Maybe 90s." The chief administrator came over and asked if we knew each other. He immediately told her I was the one who helped get him out of jail. One thing was unmistakable in our time there, their faces lit up and you could see the joy in their eyes as they recognized the songs and sang along with us. God is still with them. Amen.

Last year with our great grands!
I do hate to turn down Santa Enterprise opportunities but folks who hesitate in scheduling, well, we can only work so many events. I typically try not to schedule more than one event per day, but, this year I have several where we will be doing two or more. I know. I had better eat my Wheaties on those days. When someone cancels their event we are not disappointed because it means that's one we will not need to do. Some requests are really nice venues, but, they will need to find them another Santa since we are pretty much booked up. We have a few open slots but most of the prime schedule is taken. We are pleased to have more charity events on our schedule this year. Some of our long term clients actually put us on the schedule for the next year when we complete the current year program. When I tell folks we start filling in our schedule in August, (and, some folks this year began asking in as early as May), they just roll their eyes. Now they are so unhappy because we can't do their event. I suppose I should try and identify some other Santa contacts for them, but, I have enough trouble keeping up with myself. My point? The holiday season will be here way before we are ready. It does that every year.

If you are wondering about the current chaotic political environment and why I haven't said much about it, well, I really have run out of stuff to say. Our President is somewhat of a loose cannon, but, has he done anything that rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors as specified in our constitutional form of government? I will say this. Again, not the first time, but, so blatantly obvious, I cannot for the life of me see how anyone breathing air on the planet could miss it. There is a premeditated and coordinated effort to bring down this President. On Friday, financial reports came out that indicated a slight slowing of our economy, but, the overall markers were strong and positive. By an overwhelming majority, the mainstream reported that we are close to another dose of the Great Depression. Premeditated. Orchestrated. Coordinated. They want what they want and they will do anything, literally, to accomplish seeing a socialist elected to our highest office. Does this mean that President Trump has done everything exactly above and beyond in terms of propriety? No doubt he hasn't, nor did his predecessor, nor his, nor the one before him, and on and on. I can only hope and pray the American people will see this for what it is before it is too late. But, if they don't, we are still in the hands of Almighty God who will have the final say, period, end of story. Amen. ....More later.
