Come on in, let's share some Community Coffee, and visit for a spell.

This is the photo taken just before I walked the one block to vote. Finished my Community Coffee and went and exercised the privilege afforded to me as a citizen of the United States. One more time, "Do we live in a great country or what?"

Today is Wednesday, November 4, 2020, and we are still living under the sovereign reign of the Creator of all things. That is reassuring to me. What say you? Some people have put their trust in men to the point where they are devastated when those they trusted fail. God has much to say about whom we should trust. These have been copied from the King James Version of God's Holy Word:

 - [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

 - Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.

 - Thus saith the LORD; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

 - [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

Psalms 118:8-9 - [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

 - For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

Psalms 40:3-4 - And he hath put a new song in my mouth, [even] praise unto our God: many shall see [it], and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

 - Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

 - Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because [they are] many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

2 Timothy 3:13-17 - But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

 - For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

These truths apply to any and all humans who are a part of this world and its ruling authorities. Ultimately, our trust should be in God. Alone. That's difficult because we in our fallen condition tend to respond to whatever circumstances are at hand at any given time. Sometimes this causes us to misplace our trust. The verses apply regardless of circumstances. This includes trusting in ourselves because our flesh is week. Here is the inspired insight given through the Apostle Paul: Romans 7:18 ESV "For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out." This means we can only do right when God is directing our steps. That's why we call life a struggle even as Paul called it a war between our old fallen nature,  (old man) and the Spirit given to us, (new man), as believers. (Romans 6:6; Ephesians 2:15; Ephesians 4:22-24; Colossians 3:9-11) Victory comes when we yield ourselves to the only power that can overcome our flesh, the Spirit of the Living God living in us.

This might be a first for me but I didn't tune in to any of the election coverage last night. I see this morning there is still not a declared winner. I'm trusting God to provide regardless of how it turns out. Now it's time for another cup of Community and I bid each and everyone a blessed day even as we look to God for our confidence and peace. Amen. .....More later.
