Okay. I'm running a tad late this morning but with good reason. It's Friday, February 7, 2025, and, I hope all is well with you and yours. I was busy earlier making breakfast and rocking a great and grand. You know. I can chew gum and make breakfast and rock the baby. Still can. Thankful for that. I don't take it for granted. In fact, it doesn't take me long to look at photos where our friends are having a good time of food and fellowship to spot so many in the pictures who have gone on to their heavenly home. They are those who fit the description given by the Apostle Paul, 'the dead in Christ', those who are, 'absent from the body present with the Lord', (1st Thessalonians 4:16 and 2nd Corinthians 5:8). To be honest, I'm not 100% sure how all of that works but I 100% believe it because the Inspired Word of the Living God told that to us in the Book we call the Bible. I hear people say all the time they can hardly wait to be reunited with their loved ones. I can wait. But, I'm not so sure that will be our first priority upon us breathing our last here on this earth. Not sure. It's a great thought, and God knows I have plenty of those who by faith in Christ will be in 'that number'. However, all of that in its own good time. Right? My blogs have been viewed from all over the world by over 550,000 people, not counting those on my email list or others I have sent them to. Over 250,000 originated in the United States. The rest come from countries all over the globe. My point? My measly 550,000 is nothing compared to the millions gained in one posting by a celebrity. BUT, most of mine have something theirs do not have. Mine typically include something about my testimony and experience regarding how Jesus the Christ can change one's life. And, we do know that God can use even stuff like a verse in a blog to draw someone to Himself. I've told this one before but it's worth telling again. A Russian engineer worked on a tunnel project in Iraq many years ago. One day when he was checking the progress of the construction work he noticed something scribbled on the side of the newly excavated tunnel, John 3:16. He had no idea what it meant. When he returned to Russia he kept remembering that inscription. Finally, he checked around and discovered it came from The Bible. He went to a library and they helped him locate that verse. One thing led to another and that Russian engineer was gloriously saved. Wow! Do we serve a great God or what?
I cannot say that I am at my best yet in terms of communicating via this blogging venture, but, I am not as rusty as I was. No. It's not exactly like riding a bicycle which supposedly one never forgets. Really? I got on one a few years ago and thought I would ride like I did in my teens. I was wobbling all over the place. I looked like I was making a Charlie Chaplin silent comedy film. But, even though I proved how out of shape I was, I was getting a wee bit better when I returned. I can't promise my blogs will get better but I am enjoying sitting at the keyboard once again and giving them a good workout. Okay. It is Friday. That means many will be ending their work week. Here's what I have to say about that. Tomorrow is Saturday. Saturday is the last day of the week. Are you with me? This means Sunday is the first day of the next week. Why not starting out your brand new week by finding a local assembly (Church), that teaches the truth and attend, participate, and, dare I say, be blessed from on high. I know it's Super Bowl Sunday, but, the Creator of the Universe will meet up with you at Church, but, I can't promise He will speak to you during the football game. No. I am not one of those cartoon characters screaming 'get off of my grass', but, I sincerely know what can happen when one comes in contact with the Savior who said this as given to us in the Gospel of John 14, Verse 6: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Yep, knowing Him is a much bigger deal than anything this world might come up with. Meanwhile, have a great time of it, and, may God help us all. Why? Because we need it! We all do! Amen.
