“If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” – C.S. Lewis, (1898-1963), prolific British writer, scholar, and Anglican layman.

Okay. Just when you least expected it, I am back. It is Wednesday, November 5, 2025, and, I am happy to be back at our home base after a fun time portraying the Jolly Ole Elf in a very scenic area of Louisiana. The lady photographer had her hands full since the way to this wooded location was blocked due to a school bus head on collision with a work truck. We came through there right after it happened and one of the fellows helping out waved us through. It did not appear that any children were involved, praise God. The roadway, a major highway, was shutdown for about an hour. The photographer was busy trying to help her clients plot alternate ways of getting there. It was a pleasant afternoon, so, thankfully, I did not get overheated waiting for the next arrival. We did get it done, had a great time with the families who came and feel blessed to have been able to make some Christmas memories once again. I do hope y'all have been behaving yourselves while I was away. I had a dear friend, Bro. Jim, who is now absent from the body and present with the Lord, (2 Corinthians 5:8), who used to always ask me that question in this way, "Hey, are you being have?" He had a law degree but that was his greeting to me. Perhaps he sensed I needed some checking on, and, as for me, myself, and I, that, my friend, is always applicable.

At any rate, "Ain't it good to be back home again?" I do want to recognize The Best Mrs. Claus in the world. Exaggeration? Not to me. I tell her all the time she is actually the star of our program, but, she does not agree. I am thankful for her and how she supports and helps me as we enjoy these experiences together. I will confess that when we finished up our time, we were both tired. I think I may have forgotten just a wee bit of just how taxing it is to do your very best in bringing joy to children of all ages. I'll leave you with this anonymous quote: "It's all fun and games until Santa checks the naughty list." Y'all enjoy the rest of your day and remember to remember to give God thanks and praise. Amen and Amen
