"You can't fake passion. It is the fuel that drives any dream and makes you happy to be alive." - Mac Anderson

And, a good Friday morning to you out there running to and fro in the blogosphere. It's Friday, March 7, 2025, and, I am glad to be back with you. Yep. I actually mean that literally. I had the first of the morning CT Scan over at one of the clinics this morning. I was out there mixing it up on one of the major freeways at 6:30 a.m. Wow! People are in a hurry. But, they pretty much have always been. I wasn't, therefore, even though I was driving the speed limit of 65 miles per hour, the fact I wasn't driving 10-15 miles faster made me the object of their disdain. But, even though I felt like 50 something yesterday, I put on my old-man-not-in-a-hurry look and ignored all the shenanigans going on around me. I ignored the horn blowing, the glares, and the occasional hand signals directed my way. If I was with the wife, (I left her at home sleeping this morning), we would arrive just about the time for her appointment. Not me. I'm always early. Today I was 30 minutes early so I sat in my ole flivver pick-up truck and used my so-called smart phone to bring up the lesson I will be teaching Sunday morning. Time well spent. I was to be there and accounted for at 7:30 a.m., I was. They were to do the scan at 7:45 a.m. and, they did! Good job on their part because I don't know about you but I never have thought it good to make sure I am there on time only to have them delay it until who knows when. I know. You've been there and done that too. The other thing I dealt with this morning was the long walk down the long hall. Is that the only place they could put that equipment? I know. Diet and exercise are key to a healthy lifestyle along with Louisiana Community Coffee, I might add. Speaking of Community, I just bought a new travel k-cup machine. I like it. It will only process the amount of water you put in. That means, I'm getting a little excited right now, if you want a really strong cup you put in less than half a cup of water. Yay! Now that's what I call ingenuity! Call me discombobulated if you like. You what? Is it okay? Sure. Absolutely. It is okay for you to pray for me because here's the truth: I stand in need of them day and night and during daylight savings time too!

I did see some folks at the clinic who are challenged with mobility issues. It's always humbling because on the one hand I am thankful to not need assistance via a cane or a walker, yet. Truth in reporting requires that I tell you, on the advice of my podiatrist, I do have in my possession a cane. His rationale was I should have it before I need it because getting one after you need it might involve laying on the floor which he thought would be good to avoid if possible. I found one on Amazon. I'm pretty sure I know where it's currently located, but, now back to my train of thought. (A slow train but a train nonetheless.) On the other hand my heart goes out to those who use a crutch, cane, walker, or require a wheelchair. That, my friend, could be me. Or, it could be you. Some of those at the clinic waiting for their appointment had a caretaker with them, likely a son or daughter. Here again, I was able to play the I-45 shuffle to get there, I was able to park, walk into the clinic, and get my stuff taken care of without any of those things. It's only by the grace of God and while I am so thankful those had someone to assist them, I desire with God's help to function on my own as long as I can. My age and white beard does have standing as I go here and there. Good morning Sir. Hello Sir. Welcome Sir. Thank you Sir. It took me a while to get used to everyone calling me sir but I understand it is a term of respect, therefore, I found it necessary to quit thinking they must think I'm my grandfather, accept it for what it is, and move on. I hope you enjoy your Friday and your Saturday. In our way of seeing things, Sunday, being the first day of the week, well, we teach and believe it's appropriate to gather with other believers to worship Jesus the Christ who resurrected on the first day of the week. That became the practice of the early New Testament congregations and it is our practice as well. Check it out for yourself. Where? In the B-I-B-L-E, yes that's the book for me. I stand alone on the Word of God, the B-I-B-L-E! May God bless each one. Amen.
